Berkeley Community Garden is a community garden located in the South End of Boston, on East Berkeley Street, between Tremont St and Shawmut Ave. At almost 160 plots, we're one of the larger community gardens in the city

Berkeley Garden was founded in 1960's. Townhouses on that block were town down as part of Urban renewal, and members of the chinese community began cultivating then abandoned land.

Berkeley Garden is now protected land. It is 'owned' by the non profit umbrella organization the South End/Lower Roxbury Open Space Land Trust. The Land Trust keeps all South End gardens in trust, which keeps them safe from any future development.
